Curlew,Golden Plover,Meadow Pipit,a small selection of birds whose main habitat is in and around the harsh and bleak environment of the mountains and Moorland.
Curlew-Our largest breeding wader.This image taken at a distance does show the length of his bill.Breeds in the uplands,but is a frequent feeder on the shore line and in the farmers fields.
Golden Plover-The majority of of Golden Plovers that winter in Ireland and Western Britain are from Iceland.Large groups can be seen in the reserve here  at  Haverigg. this shot shows males and females,the males having the deeper black chin and chest plumage.
